About Phil: He worked in the office at a repair shop/towing company and after going through many drivers with many damage complaints he joked to the boss one day about putting him in one of the trucks. That was 5 years ago and has since left the repair shop and bought his own truck. Phil currently employs two people and has two trucks: a light duty self loading wrecker and a service truck. When asked about his favorite truck Phil replied: “I like the wrecker because I was taught a long time ago there is nothing that can't be done with a wrecker and I believe that to be true. Of course the roadside service unit is an automatic, newer and has working a/c but wher's the fun in that?” Phil's favorite work-related story: “A while back I had a call to pick up a lady on the side of the highway. I get there and realized that she was pregnant. It was freezing cold out so I escorted her to my truck and helped her in. I finished hooking up to her vehicle and towed it to our repair shop. She wanted to pay with cash and had her father bring her to the atm. I had another call to go on so I left. When I returned I asked the shop guys if she came and back? They said no and that they haven’t been able to get ahold of her to get the okay to perform the work on her vehicle. A few days go by and her father comes in to inform us that she gave birth the day we towed her vehicle and that he had to take her to the hospital instead of the ATM machine! That story sticks out the most.” AWARDS AND COMMENDATIONS: No awards yet, but we have received several thank you letters from satisfied customers within our community. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: We often help with free jumpstarts at one of the senior apartment complexes right near our facility. We transport vehicles for the vehicle donation program and also tow the floats and trailers during parades for the Riverhead Kiwanis Club. MEMBERSHIPS: Phil is a member of the Riverhead Kiwanis Club.
