292 tow trucks made their way through New York City on Saturday, 9/20/08 in an effort to create a new world record for the largest number of tow trucks in a parade.

The procession included flatbeds, wreckers and 50-ton rotators, many of them tricked-out in high style.

The parade started from the main parking lot at Shea Stadium in Queens and ended at the Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn where the trucks were strategically parked to spell the words "New York."

The previous world record was a parade of 83 tow trucks in August 2004 in Washington state, so it would appear that this event was successful in breaking the old record.

Many thanks to the kind folks at the Metropolitan NY Towing, Auto Body and Salvage Association for allowing us to be part of this historic event!
